VP3 3+HP blender
The new 3+HP blender is powerful, it is 3 Plus powerful! The motor
is much bigger, more durable and doesn't have to work as hard to maintain
3+HP. It has a huge cooling fan and will not overheat while you are
making heavy foods like almond butter or hummus. It has a thermally
protected motor that prevents burnout; if overheated, it stops until
the motor cools down.
The 3+hp blender, with the plunger, and turnstyle dials provides you
with superior control over the texture and tase of your food. Therefore,
it is the choice of most professional chefs. It is quite quiet, sounding
only like a gentle fan. The life expectancy of the 3+HP is 10 to 20
years.. not 3 to 5 years like most blenders.
When we talk about 3HP or 3+HP we are referring to the peak horsepower.
Both blenders peak at 3HP or 3+HP, but when you blend, the constant
HP is what we are concerned with. If one blender maxes out at 3HP but
only delivers 1HP to 2HP when it is blending heavy foods, that might
not produce the desired results. Therefore it is necessary to find a
blender that can maintain a near constant 3HP or 3+HP no matter what
foods and being blended. The 3+HP blender maintains a constant 3HP to
3+HP even when blending thick foods like almond butter, or tiny seeds
like those in tomatoes or berries.
WE guarantee to beat any store's price on this blender!

K-Tec HP3 Blender by Blendtec
The K-tec has a simple touch screen, and can turn itself off automatically.
The computerized cycles are great for drinks and grinding dry goods.
It is designed to process wet foods and dry foods with the same blade.
The K-tec is significantly louder than the VP3 blender and sufficient
liquid must be added to process heavy foods such as dry nuts and hard
vegetables.
It will not blend small quantities, e.g. salad dressing. The Ktec's
container is its weakest point. The seal around the lid of the container
is not very strong and it can leak.
The K-tec is hard for most people to figure out they just use the level
10 speed and rarely, if ever use the fancy buttons.
The 3hp blender's rpm is lower because the company can't make their
containers sturdy enough to handle the higher speeds (Note that the
3+ containers cost at around four times as much). The touchpad is nice
but it limits your control over the results. If you are really particular
about texture and want to get your food at the texture that a vp3 blender
would give, you could use two or three cycles per use which lowers the
value of the machine and would prematurely wear it out..
